How to Make an Airbnb Promo Video from Your Listing Photos

September 27, 2026 · 4 min read · by the TourKit team

You don't need a camera crew to make an Airbnb promo video. If your listing has good photos, you already have what you need: a short video that puts those photos in the right order, with smooth motion, your stay's name, and a clear call to book. This guide walks through how to plan it, how to make it three different ways, and where to post it so it actually brings in bookings.

Updated September 2026 · Written by the TourKit team — we build listing-video and social marketing software for agents, brokers, and hosts.

Step 1: Pick the photos that sell the stay

Guests decide fast, so lead with the single most bookable thing — the view, the hot tub, the pool, the fire pit, the porch at sunset. Then walk them through the stay in the order they'd experience it:

  1. The hero shot (the thing that makes someone stop scrolling)
  2. The exterior or arrival
  3. The main living space
  4. The kitchen
  5. The bedrooms, best one first
  6. The bathrooms
  7. The outdoor space or amenity, shown again
  8. The neighborhood or view, if you have an accurate shot

Twelve to twenty photos is plenty. More than that and the video drags.

Step 2: Keep it short and make two versions

  • Vertical (9:16) for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Stories. Under a minute.
  • Landscape (16:9) for YouTube, Facebook, and your direct-booking site.

Each photo should hold for a few seconds with gentle motion — a slow zoom or pan — so it feels like a walkthrough rather than a slideshow.

Step 3: Put the right words on it

  • The stay's name and town — not the street address. Guests don't need it until they book.
  • The nightly rate, if you want to show it, framed as "from $X/night."
  • A reason to act now: New Listing, Now Booking, Dates Open, or a Special Rate.
  • Your brand — logo and colors, especially if you run more than one property.

Step 4: Make it — three ways

With TourKit's short-term rental kit, you upload your photos, name the stay and town, and get both videos, Instagram and Facebook posts, a Reel photo set, and guest-focused captions in about two minutes. It doesn't import from Airbnb or VRBO pages — you upload the photos directly.

Step 5: Write a caption that books

Describe what the stay feels like, not who it's for: "Coffee on the deck, mountains at sunrise, hot tub under the stars." Then give one clear action: "Book your stay — link in bio." Stick to amenities and details that are true, and skip anything you can't back up.

Step 6: Post it where guests are

  • Instagram and TikTok: the vertical video on the stay's own account.
  • Facebook: your page and relevant local travel groups (follow each group's rules).
  • YouTube: the landscape version, linked from everywhere else.
  • Your direct-booking site: near the top of the page.

Whether a booking platform lets you add video to the listing itself is up to the platform, and it changes — most hosts get the most value from video off-platform. For a posting plan, see our short-term rental social media guide.

The bottom line: your photos already tell the story; a promo video just puts them in motion where guests are scrolling. Try your first property free.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make a promo video for my Airbnb?

Pick 12 to 20 of your best listing photos, order them the way a guest would experience the stay, add gentle motion, your stay name and town, and a booking call to action. Make a vertical version for Reels and TikTok and a landscape version for YouTube and your website.

How long should an Airbnb promo video be?

Under a minute for Reels, TikTok, and Shorts. A landscape version for YouTube or your booking site can run a little longer.

Can I make a rental video without filming?

Yes. A rental video tool animates the photos you already have into a branded video. TourKit makes both a vertical and a landscape version from your photos in about two minutes.

Should I put my address in my rental video?

No. Use the stay name and town. Guests get the address when they book, and leaving it out of public posts is better for privacy.

Where should I post my vacation rental video?

Instagram and TikTok for the vertical version, YouTube and Facebook for the landscape version, and your direct-booking website.

Put this playbook on autopilot
